Celebrity Cooking Events

Saturday 22nd March

Simon Rimmer the celebrity chef line up so far includes Simon Rimmer for Saturday March 22nd. This is the fourth year running that Simon will take to the stage at the Chester Food & Drink Festival. Simon is a TV chef extraordinaire and vegetarian expert, passionate about good food from around the North West. He will be demonstrating his culinary skills in the celebrity kitchen. Simon currently presents Something for the Weekend on BBC 2 and has just finished filming Recipe for Success which will air on BBC 1 in 2008. A fifth series of the very successful Grubs Up will also air on ITV 1 in 2008.

Sunday March 23rd

Lotte Duncan has been broadcasting on British television for nine years and is a skilled and highly experienced presenter who will appear at the Chester Food & Drink Festival on Easter Sunday March 23rd. She has been known to cook anywhere, present anywhere and is not afraid of a challenge, holding an interview while bouncing 50 foot in the air on a bungee. Lotte’s television appearances have included ITV1’s Heart of the Country, BBC’s Countryfile: Summer Diaries and Castle in the Country.

Monday March 24th

Mike Robinson will visit on Monday March 24th. Mike has presented top rated series for UKTV Food/Style and Gardens - Heaven's Kitchen, Heaven's Kitchen Cookbook and Heaven's Garden for UKTV Food, UKTV Style and Gardens.
Mike is also a regular co-presenter on UKTV Food's Great Food Live as well as making regular appearances on Saturday Kitchenand Saturday Cooks. All Heaven's Kitchen series are filmed on location at Mike's pub/restaurant, The Pot Kiln, near Newbury. Mike has also appeared on Ready Steady Cook and has two other shows to his name Chalet Slaves and Safari Chef.

Alan Coxon

Alan Coxon is one of the most respected chef’s within the catering industry and was voted amongst the top 10 TV Chefs of the World Presenters in a poll commissioned by BBC Food in 100 countries.

He commenced his culinary career at the Loews Hotel in Monte Carlo before working for many years within Hotels and Michelin starred restaurants across Europe.  Alan opened his own restaurant in the Isle of Man, before returning to France to organise and open the largest 4 star hotel in Paris heading and leading an international culinary brigade of over 63 chefs.  His extensive knowledge of food’s origin, ingredients and history combined with a brilliant sense of fun has made Alan a regular face on TV screens around the globe.

Alan’s many TV appearances include Ever Wondered About Food for BBC2 as well as a series including A taste of Northwest America and Coxon`s Royal Feast  (Cooking with Kings in South Africa), Coxon`s Sporting Feast with globally renowned sporting legends and Coxon's Kitchen College.  He appeared regularly on Great Food Live (BBC UK TV Food) and Gloria Hunniford’s Open House for Channel 5 to name but a few.  Alan can be currently seen co-presenting Head to Head with Toyah Wilcox on the property channel.  He has published three cookbooks Ready in Minutes (the book was voted within the top 4 best cookbooks of the world in Australia 2005), Singles Separated and Divorced Cookbook and Three Chefs in the Cape.

After extensive research and development Alan has recently launched his own historic food range which includes three unique vinegar products -  

Ale-Gar, Roman Vinaigre and Ancient Greek Vinaigre.  The Ale-Gar is a wonderful alternative to balsamic vinegar and all of the products are receiving rave reviews by food press and chefs world wide.   Alan’s vast knowledge of the history of food including Egyptian, Roman and Ancient Greek periods give him a strong understanding of the science of food.
