Snooty Fox Saturday Kitchen: One Pot Cook Off

Snooty Fox Saturday Kitchen: One Pot Cook Off

Celebrating the high quality, seasonal, local food used in Macdonald Hotels, The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel is sponsoring a One Pot Cook Off on Saturday March 15th, to help launch the seventh annual Chester Food & Drink Festival 2008.

Entrants will be competing to win a complimentary weekend for two in the Master Suite at The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel, St.John’s Street, Chester and have their dish added to the Hotel’s Snooty Fox Restaurant evening menu on March 15.

If you are short-listed as a Finalist you will have the chance to display your culinary skills at the event, with the winner chosen by a panel of judges including Chester Food & Drink Festival Chairman Stephen Wundke and Jane Casson, of Made in Cheshire.

Kate Halewood, General Manager for The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel, said:

“This will be a fantastic, fun event that we hope the people of Chester and Cheshire will really get behind. Competitors can only use one pot or pan to cook your dish, which must be influenced by traditional British ingredients. We are encouraging domestic Gods and Goddesses who must live in Cheshire, to get involved. We are delighted to be taking part in the Chester Food and Drink Festival for the first time. We are urging the public to book their places for the Cook Off now to avoid disappointment, as numbers are limited.”

All ingredients will be supplied complimentary on request by The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel. The meal should not take any longer than 30 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook. Competitors must not work as a chef in a professional capacity and be aged over 18.

If you are a domestic Cheshire resident cook, who wants to compete against local residents for their dish to appear on the Snooty Fox menu then contact Paula Bullock on 01244 323186, or email:  sales.blossoms@macdonald.hotels.co.uk for terms and conditions of entry. The closing date for entrants is March 5.

Tickets to the Award ceremony, which is open to the public at 1.30pm on March 15th, cost £2 and are also available by contacting Paula.
